Everywhere in today's written exchange--personal, professional, social media, greeting cards, newspapers--everywhere I notice the misuse of the words your and you're.  I see it so often even I have to stop and think which one is intended in the writer's thought.

Their difference is simple. Your is possessive meaning your thought, your blog. You're is a contraction, the shortened version of you are. You are a blogger. You are thinking.

Never is it appropriate to write or say, "I hope your coming" or "Your the best." Always correct is you are or you're coming. You are the best or you're the best.

Please help stop this viral confusion of these two words or next November's headlines will read: You're New President!

Oh, man.  Now I am thinking about who your President will be. Too much for a Monday morning. And that brings to mind another verbal misstep.  To and too.

I'll get to that next blog...
